How much does a website cost for a small business in Murfreesboro?

By Trey Surles · Boro Digital, Murfreesboro TN · Updated August 2026 · 6-minute read

Short answer: a professionally built small-business website in Murfreesboro costs $1,500 to $3,500 as a one-time flat fee from an independent builder, $5,000 to $15,000+ from an agency, or $240 to $600 a year if you build it yourself on a site builder. On top of any of those, expect about $150–$300 a year for the domain and hosting.

What actually drives the price

Page count matters less than people think. What moves the number is who writes the words, whether the site needs a booking or quote flow, and how many rounds of changes are included. A five-page site where you supply finished text is cheap to build well. An eight-page site where the builder interviews you and writes everything is real work — that’s the gap between $1,500 and $2,500 on my own price list.

Watch out for the other direction too: a $500 website usually means a template with your logo dropped in, no copywriting, and no local SEO setup. It’s not a scam — it’s just a different product, and Google treats it accordingly.

The three ways to buy a website

What you’ll pay others, whoever builds it

$150 to $300 a year, no matter who builds the site. A domain name costs about $15 a year. Hosting costs $10–$25 a month. Those bills should go to accounts in your name — if a builder keeps them in theirs, changing builders later gets expensive.

Run this checklist before you pay anyone

  1. Get the total price in writing before any call. If they won’t publish or state a number, walk.
  2. Confirm the domain and hosting accounts will be in your name, billed at cost.
  3. Ask who writes the copy — and what happens if it isn’t ready by launch.
  4. Ask how many revision rounds are included, and what an extra round costs.
  5. Ask to see one of their sites on your own phone. Slow on your phone means slow on your customers’.
  6. Ask whether there’s a contract. For a small local site, there shouldn’t be.

What I charge

Since this whole article is about prices, here are mine: $1,500 for a 5-page site, $2,500 for 8 pages with the copy written for you, $3,500 for a full build with a booking or quote flow. Half up front, half at launch, no contract. The full breakdown — including the monthly plans and what they cover — is on the pricing page.
